This program introduces participants to the fundamentals of basic electricity, proper pole climbing techniques, proper use and care of PPE, safe work practices, basic knowledge of the function of the power grid, and general knowledge necessary to prepare them for a career in the electrical linework industry. The course combines classroom time and fieldwork in the outdoor lab at the CNM Rio Rancho campus with a strong emphasis on outdoor lab work.
CNM Ingenuity’s HAZWOPER courses are designed for workers involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. The course satisfies training requirements outlined in OSHA standard 29 CFR Part 1910.120, which requires workers to complete HAZWOPER training before starting work at an uncontrolled hazardous waste operation.
Ingenuity offers both HAZWOPER 40 and HAZWOPER 8 Refresher courses.
