The Green Building Internship program provides hands-on coursework along with paid internships for CNM students and community members. Students and interns work side by side with experienced builders and talented educators to create energy efficient and cost effective homes in the neighborhoods near CNM’s main campus.
This year’s Green Building Internship is made possible through a generous grant from Lowe’s. Additional support has been received from PNM and from the CNM School of Applied Technologies National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education Award #1601121. CNM Ingenuity will be partnering with Homewise on the construction of the home. The Green Building program offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn cutting edge green building techniques while contributing to affordable housing in Albuquerque’s older neighborhoods. Coursework includes relevant industry-recognized certifications.
The program’s past projects include a sustainable modular home located across from CNM’s administrative offices on Buena Vista SE. The Buena Vista home was made possible through a lead grant from PNM.
Internships are scheduled to begin in summer 2021. Please check back for updates or request more information using the form below.
