Nurse Refresher & Clinical
The Nurse Refresher Theory class focuses on current nursing practice as related to the clinical area of medical-surgical nursing care. It is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses who have been out of the clinical setting and desire to re-enter the clinical workplace; and/or as part of the New Mexico Board of Nursing (BON) requirement for licensure reactivation.
The 72-80 hour precepted Nurse Refresher Clinical is a requirement of the Nurse Refresher Program. The clinical practicum should be performed within four weeks of completion of the Nurse Refresher Theory (online) but no later than 6 months of the temporary license issuance.
Community Dental Health Coordinator
This accelerated course series is for Registered Dental Hygienists (RDHs) who wish to co-function in the role of Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC). CDHC’s work with underserved communities, and have an emphasized skill set related to oral health. Working under the direction of a dentist, and in partnership with a community clinic, CDHCs provide oral health education, prevention intervention, and low-level dental care. They also help patients navigate an often-complex public health system to receive adequate oral healthcare. CDHCs will also establish an oral health referral system with the community clinic, federally qualified health system, and/or dentists with whom they work.
CNMI now offers an accelerated CDHC training program for RDHs that builds on your current knowledge, skills and certifications. Full tuition scholarships provided by Delta Dental of New Mexico!
