Professional Development Workshop for K-12 Educators
K-12 schools across New Mexico are incorporating virtual learning into their curriculum. Educators need to be able to make virtual learning accessible for all students, and to learn additional strategies for increasing student engagement in a virtual learning environment. Designed specifically for K-12 educators by CNM’s Education Department, this workshop will do just that.
Designed by K-12 community college education faculty in response to local school needs, this 4 hour workshop models and teaches educators frameworks and tools that can be used to support access and student engagement in the virtual learning environment. Topics include:
- Creating equitable virtual/online practices
- Leveraging the virtual learning environment to support differentiated instruction
- Strategies for increasing student engagement in a virtual learning environment
- Communicating with students
- Tools for online engagement (making videos, using Flipgrid and more)
- Structuring Collaborative Learning Virtually

NMPED is providing free access to this training for K-12 public educators. Only New Mexico K-12 public school educators are eligible to register for this course. Your school email address will be required for registration.

Certificate of Completion
Participants will be able to download a Certificate of Completion following their training. Participants will receive instructions for how to do so in the post-training communication that will be sent 1-3 business days following the training.
