Professional Development Workshop for K-12 Educators

K-12 schools across New Mexico are incorporating virtual learning into their curriculum. Educators need to be able to make virtual learning accessible for all students, and to learn additional strategies for increasing student engagement in a virtual learning environment. Designed specifically for K-12 educators by CNM’s Education Department, this workshop will do just that.

Workshop Information

Designed by K-12 community college education faculty in response to local school needs, this 4 hour workshop models and teaches educators frameworks and tools that can be used to support access and student engagement in the virtual learning environment. Topics include:

    • Creating equitable virtual/online practices
    • Leveraging the virtual learning environment to support differentiated instruction
    • Strategies for increasing student engagement in a virtual learning environment
    • Communicating with students
    • Tools for online engagement (making videos, using Flipgrid and more)
    • Structuring Collaborative Learning Virtually

Self-paced Version for Public Educators

This course is available for public educators through the NMPED website. This course will provide you with information on how to:

  • Create equitable virtual/online practices
  • Leverage the virtual learning environment to support differentiated instruction
  • Develop strategies for increasing student engagement in a virtual learning environment
  • Tools for online engagement (making videos, using Flipgrid and more)

Certificate of Completion

Participants will be able to download a Certificate of Completion following their training, within 1-3 business days after completion of the course.

To print your Certificate of Completion, log into our registration portal and go to Menu > My Transcript > Print Proof of Completion (which will be located underneath Class Information).  Note: You must be logged in to your student account to access the Menu item.
